Blogging with Kids

Each of my students now has their own blog!  I had the opportunity to go to a workshop on Tuesday of last week within the district.  I was able to work alongside some of my colleagues and learn a great resource designed for kids - kidblog.org.  It is a free resource for teachers to use to develop classroom blogs for their students.  I set up an account and introduced it to my students last Friday.  Unfortunately, the website has been having some technical difficulties, so only about half of us got to comment on the first post.
I am so excited to continue to use this and to let my students begin to compose their own posts.  My students are so excited and eager to learn more about blogging.
I introduced the idea of "good" comments and "good" posts to my students.  I had been shown the following video and knew that it would be a hit!  The students loved it and learned so much.  It is clear to tell in their posts that they took these kids' advice. Check it out here and in the following video!
